Perhaps the first vegetable i would like to pick on a lazy day is cabbage as it is easy to cut and cook . Cabbage curry is my favorite dish and it can be eaten with any sambhar or rasam .
Cabbage : 1/2 kg
Green chilli -2(cut into two and slit )
Ginger – a small piece
Moong dal – 2 tsp (soak in water for half an hour)
Coconut – 2 tbls
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal 1 tsp
Salt – to suit taste
Cut cabbage into thin pieces and wash it well .
Add oil in a kadai and temper with mustard seeds urad dal, chilli. Then add cabbage, and thinly cut ginger. In the middle of the kadai add the moong dal and little water. Cover the vessel and turn the vegetables frequently . Within few minutes the vegetables will be cooked. Add salt, curry leaves and coconut .
