Vengaya Vadavam thuvaiyal.


As requested by my niece i wanted to try Vengaya Vadava thuvaiyal. Vengaya vadavam is usd for garnishing Sambhar and Kuzhambu . Thuvaiyal out of it is rare one and i have only heard of it . Surfing the net i found few sites giving the recipe , i adopted those recipes and included Curry leaves to give a nutritional value. (


Ingredients :
Vengaya Vadavam – 2
Red chilli -2
Tamarind – a small lemon size
Curry leaves – few
Coconut 2tbls
Ginger – 1 inch
Salt and oil.

Fry red chilli,  and ginger in oil .


Add Tamarind and coconut and fry little more.


Finally add curry leaves and saute for few minutes.


Keep this aside. Fry the Vengaya vadavam in oil in slow fire .


When everything is cold add little water and salt , grind in a mixie . This thuvaiyal has a strong taste . Ginger and curry leaves can be omitted if you do not like that taste.
