Rasam Podi. (ரசப் பொடி)


Rasam is the most simplest and easy to cook dish .Rasam  is a great help for us when we are sick or have  digestive problems . It can be called as the Indian soup . Various variety of  rasam are there. The powder used can  also be made fresh or made previously and stored. For the morning hurry and for working women rasam powder is a great help. i am giving my version of Rasam  Podi.


Red Chilli –  2 cups

Whole Coriander seed – 1 cup

Jeera – 1/2 cup

Black Pepper – 1/2  cup

Tuvar dal – 1 tsp

Omam  -1 tsp (optional)



Fry all the ingredients in little oil . Fry in a slow flame so that there will be even heat . When the ingredients turn reddish brown switch off and transfer to al vessel . Grind it in a  mixie when cool . The rasam Podi will be of coarse texture.
