A crispy simple delicacy which no one will repel it . Mostly we make  Vadai on festive days only . The fear of cholesterol, fat have made us shun all these wonderful foodies. Yet when eaten in moderation we can enjoy as we have the Goodness of Urad dal. When offering to God Onions are not used but in the next batch onions come into full swing and give that great aroma. Spinach can also be added to vadai. Less oil more good , so grinding the dough for this with little water is needed and if this works out the Vadai too will be a oil free product , Soaking the Dals for 1 hour is enough . Adding Raw rice and Tuvar Dal is to give that Golden crunchiness.

Ingredients:
Urad dal -1 cup
Tuvar Dal -1 tsp
Raw Rice – 1 tsp
Black pepper powder -1 tsp
Green chilli -3
Ginger – 1 inch
Hing – 1 tsp
Onion -2
Coriander, Curry leaves – 1 cup
Salt
Oil – to deep fry.

Method:
Soak the dals in water for 1 hour .

Drain the water and grind with little water in a grinder .

When the dals are being ground add green chilli, ginger and hing .

If the dough gets too dry sprinkle water and finally we will get a fluffy dough . To this add salt and black pepper powder . Mix well. Add curry leaves , coriander leaves and deep fry in Hot oil.

Onions too can be added to the dough if not offering to God. Drain the Hot vadai in a tissue paper .
