Yard Long Beans Curry .


Most of the hotels serve this Long Beans and so fed up with it my Husband had put a ban on this long beans. I too felt that the texture was somewhat hard and taste raw even after cooking so i avoided this. But a recipe given by our friend Abi , changed our mindset and from then at least once a week we buy Long beans.

Yard long Beans – 1 bundle
Roasted Gram Dal – 2 tbls
Jeera – 1 tsp
Red Chilli -2
Hing Powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp

Method: Cut the long beans into small pieces . Boil with little water and turmeric powder.

Grind the Gram dal, jeera and Red chilli to a dry powder.

Mix this powder with the cooked Long Beans.

Heat oil in a kadai. Add the mustard seeds.

Add the cooked Long beans and little salt . Mix well and cook in slow fire till the raw smell goes . Garnish with Curry leaves and a drop of coconut oil spluttered on this will give that Divine taste.


Beans too can be cooked in the same way.
