Aloo Paratha.


Potato stuffed chapatis is Aloo Paratha  and the methods can  vary. I am posting my method;


Wheat Flour – 2 cups

Maida/ plain flour – ½ cup

Boiled Potato -3

Onion -1

Green chilli /Red chilli powder–  2  or 1 tsp

Garam masala powder or Paratha  masala  powder – 1tsp

Turmeric powder -1 tsp

Coriander leaves – few

Salt and oil



Boil potato and mash well .Mix wheat flour and maida  with turmeric powder and salt  and make into a dough with water .

Adding maida gives a pliable dough .

To the mashed potato add  onion , green chilli or red chilli powder, salt , garam masala and coriander leaves  and mix well.Make them into small balls. The chapatis dough must be left for 1 hour and then be used for cooking .After an hour roll into small circles and keep the potato filling in the middle  . Close it and gently make into circles.


Cook in tava with ghee or oil.




Serve with Curd or sweet chutney or coriander chutney .
