Adai Maavu usili.


Though i have read about this in books , i tried this today only.  I had Beans   and left over Adai maavu in the fridge . So with both i made this and found the taste too ,pretty good and above all the adai maaavu empty .

Ingredients :

Adai Maavu – 1 cup

Beans – 1 cup

Red chill  powder -1 tsp

Hing -1 tsp




First drain the water if any  on the top of the  left over adai maavu .

Then pour it in Idli moulds and steam it .

When cooked and cool , cut into four pieces each idli and grind only for one minute in a a mixie.

Cut Beans into small pieces and cook with little water .

Take a non-stick kadai and add oil. Add Mustard seeds, Hing and the ground Adai .

With patience sauté the  Adai well , so that it  gets separated  .

Add salt . Now add the  boiled beans , remove the water if present,  to it .

After  adding beans  the mixture  will be separate only for few minutes  .

But later we can see both mixing together .

If you want add Chilli powder and sprinkle oil and cook in low flame .

When the  mixture gets dried , switch off the flame.
