Cheese stick .

Cheese  stick is the favourite food we buy from Bakeries l  as we want something not sweet to fill that hunger pangs in a shopping mall. Today i thought of trying something new and searched the web for this recipe. But  there was nothing similar to  Bread talk cheese stick. So gathering the knowledge from my short baking spree i decide to do it with confidence .

The taste was almost similar and i am happy that we can do this without loads of sugar, cream or butter. As i did this in my toaster oven the temperature setting may vary .

Self raising Flour – 2 cups

Salt -1 tsp

Active Dry yeast – ½  tbls

Oil – 2 tsp

Milk -1 cup

Sugar -1 tsp .

For the filling

Green chilli -2

Coriander leaves – few

Salt –  a pinch

Mozzarella cheese – ½ cup

Sieve the salt and flour together . Make a dent in the middle and add yeast to it . Add luke warm milk and sugar and wait till they dissolve . Then knead the dough with milk and little water

Finally apply some oil in your hands and knead well Keep this to rise for 1 hour .

Meanwhile  grind the ingredients given in Filling and make a paste .

After 1 hour the dough would have risen .

Punch it down and make it into small balls and then stretch it into long cylindrical shapes .

Make a small depression in the middle, through out the dough .

Apply the coriander paste on it and then sprinkle mozzarella cheese.

Preheat the oven for 20 mts at 150 degrees . Bake it for 30 minutes .  i found the browning missing and so again baked it for 10 minutes at 250 degrees.

Now i got the Bread talk cheese stick  appearance . Cool it and then separate them with a knife . i can assure you that we can get tasty cheese sticks with our own  taste of spice level .
