The dates and long forgotten Cream cheese was lying in the fridge and the idea to use this in baking was got form surfing few sites , so a sudden culinary try awakened in me . By adding dates we can reduce the sugar level. i was not accurate in measurements , so i am just giving an eye level of what i used .
Custard powder – 1 ½ cups
Baking powder -1 /2 tsp
Baking soda – ½ tsp
Dates – 8 pieces
Milk – ½ cup
Sugar – 4 tbls
Butter – 3 tbls
Cream cheese – 3 tbls
Soak dates in warm milk for 20 minutes and then grind it into a paste .
Mix the dry ingredients first . Beat egg well and mix Butter with it
. To the dry ingredients add egg, cream cheese, sugar , butter and beat well .
We can fill this in wither cup cake moulds or bake it in a tray .
Preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 250 degrees .
Bake the cake for 25 minutes or till done.
Cool it in a wire rack and then cut into desired shapes and sizes.
