Mint /Pudina Thuvaiyal.

A must for every meal is a thuvaiyal and eating Thuvaiyal not only solves our digestion problems but is also a replacement for pickles which are oily and are not fresh . Mint Thuvaiyal goes well with plain rice or a side dish for Idly,Pongal and uppuma . Here is my version and with a clue from my fried to add onion. Since i added onion i omitted coconut other wise fresh coconut with slight frying can be added.

Pudina / Mint leaves – 2 bunch
Red chilli -2
Urad dal – 1tsp
Small onion – 4
Tamarind – a small pinch
Salt .

Method:
Pluck the leaves alone and wash it in water. In a kadai add oil.
Fry urad dal , chilli , pudina and onion well.
Grind with enough water along with tamarind and salt.
