Mor kuzhambu – Another version .

Yet another Mor kuzhambu recipe and this time i used Gram dal / Pottu kadalai instead of usual channa dal . It gives slight difference only . But while diluting the curd we must be careful by not adding too much water . Here is the recipe

Curd – 1 cup
Pottu kadalai/ Gram Dal – 2 tsp
Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
Green chilli -3
Ginger – ½ inch
Coconut – 1 tbls
White pumpkin or any preferred vegetable – 1 cup
Turmeric powder -1 tsp
To temper
Mustard seeds -1 tsp
Cumin seeds -1 tsp
Hing powder -1 tsp
Coconut leaves – 1 tsp
Curry leaves

Frisk the curd with a fork well and add water and dilute it .
Soak the dal, coriander seed in water for 20 minutes .
After 20 minutes grind it with ginger, green chilli, coconut into a smooth paste .
Mix this in the curd . Add salt and turmeric powder .
Cut pumpkin into small pieces and cook with water . After it is cooked add it to the curd mixture.
Simmer the curd mixture in a low flame, till it starts curdling .
Finally when the thick consistency is reached switch off the flame.
Temper with the ingredients given above and serve with rice or adai.
