Cardamom Cupcakes.

Remember the True Elaichi flavoured cream biscuits which accompanied each guest in our childhood days  and i like all kids loved to lick the cream and then relish on the biscuit . In other cream biscuits the biscuit part will be omitted by us , but in this we do not omit as the biscuit too has the cardamom flavour . i wonder if the biscuits are available now. i recently came upon lemon and cardamom cupcakes  recipe and decided to try that. But suddenly the past memories came upon and skipping the lemon part i wanted to try the cardamom flavour alone which gave back the lost taste of the Elaichi biscuits.

Now for the recipe

Ingredients: (makes 6 )

All purpose flour – 1 cup
Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
Baking soda – 1/2 tsp
Egg -1
Butter – 60 gm
Sugar – 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder -1/2 tbls
Green colour -1/4 tsp

For the syrup:
Icing sugar – 1 cup
Cardamom powder -1 tsp
Milk – 1/2 cup

Method:

Beat the egg and butter together .

Sieve the flour with the baking powder and baking soda.

Add sugar to it and mix the dry and wet ingredients together .

Add the cardamom powder and green color .If the mixture is too thick little milk can be added.

Preheat the oven. Bake @ 200 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes .

Sugar and baking time can be adjusted according to your taste and oven capacity .

For the syrup mix icing sugar ,little milk and cardamom powder and make it into a paste .

When the cupcakes are ready , apply a coating of this .

To get the extra tinge fork small holes and add the syrup so that the syrup will be oozing inside and your tongue will be emanating that flavour till your next meal .
