Paneer Pulao.

20140123_104958With Paneer in hand who else will go out for vegetables for pulao. That being the ground rule i decided to make pulao with paneer as  children will not find it as a big problem to eat and we will also will find an empty platter . So start now.


Basmati rice – 1 cup

Paneer – 1/ 2 cup

Frozen green peas -1 /2 cup

Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp

Onion -2

Cinnamon, Cloves, Cardamom – 1 tsp

Red Chilli powder – 1 tsp

Garam masala powder -1 /s tsp

Coconut milk – 1 tbls

Salt and Oil.


Soak Basmati rice with water and coconut milk. Set ready all items . After half an hour set the cooker on the flame. Add oil. First add the spices and then onion and sauté well. Since i prefer less oil in cooking i use paneer as such i.e without deep frying. So i added the paneer now and sautéed slightly. Then add peas and mix well. Add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder and garam masala. Add water and rice . Mix salt to this . Cover and cook for two whistles . That’s it  spicy paneer pulao is ready in a jiffy. There are a lot of varieties available in the internet but mine too is tasty and simple. Good for children’s taste buds.
