Purple cabbage Paratha.

Purple and Cabbage do not go well. For the bland taste of cabbage and attractive colour purple may confuse some. But colour freaks like me who want to always add a dash of colour in all will certainly find purple cabbage attractive. Eating it as salad is a good idea. Cooking gives a different taste. So i thought of adding it to paratha and recipe i got from raks kitchen in  which she had used normal cabbage.Thanks raks for a good recipe. With slight modification  i tried hers and the recipe is below.

Ingredients:

Whole wheat flour -1 cup

Purple cabbage – 1 cup ( finely cut)

Red Chilli Powder or Chilli  -1 tsp

Chat Masala powder -1 tsp

Salt

Oil.

Method:

Cut cabbage it a very fine pieces .

In a large bowl add the whole wheat flour, red chilli powder, Chat masala. salt and mix well. Add fine cabbage to this, little oil , and again mix.

Then add carefully water now as the cabbage itself will have moisture.

Make it into a stiff dough and allow it to settle for at least half an hour.

Then make it into small balls and roll into chapathi and cook on both sides with oil.

Serve hot with any Curry or raitha.

Variation:

Adding spices depends on our choice. Ginger garlic paste, Red chilli or Coriander powder can be used depends on the taste of our tongue.
