Molagooshyam.

 

Pepper . the healthy choice for a spicy food is always welcomed by me. My husband likes it and uses it in curries . It gives a good taste. i like Pepper based Kuzhambu , especially the one they give during lactating days .This recipe i found in a Mira’s talent gallery@My Hobby lounge. An excellent blog where we can find many of the author’s talents apart from cooking. Today i made it and reserved time yesterday itself to buy yam after my walk.It sounds quite wonderful when we plan and cook  .

Ingredients:

1. Elephant yam/ Ash gourd/ Raw Banana – 250 gm

2. Moong Dal -2 tbsp

3.Curry leaves – 1 sprig

4.Black Pepper corn – 1 tsp

5.Turmeric powder -1 /4 tsp

6.Salt to taste

5. Green Chilli -1

6. Coconut oil -2  to 3 tsp

Method:

1. Clean and peel the yam and cut into small squares.

2. Wash and drain well.

3. Lightly roast the moong dal till nice aroma come and cook it along with cut yam, turmeric powder and chilli . i pressure cooked this.

4.. Dry roast the pepper corns and coarsely grind the corn.

5..When the yam and dal is cooked it is ready for tempering.

6. Take a wok ,add oil and then add curry leaves and pepper powder . After a minute add the yam dal mixture and salt. Add curry leaves and cook for two minutes.

7. Serve hot with rice.
