Sprouts are rich in energy and are live energy sources. Eating them as fresh as possible is a best option . But i never take this seriously as i will be the only person to have a healthy diet in my house. so to stay with the family i just skip these food . This recipe was posted in the Face book Page Sikandalous cuisine and i then decided to make it as the photo attracted me very much . Today being a Sunday i pre planned and soaked the legumes and sprouted them . They say we need 24 hours to sprout to the optimum length. May be i will try it next time.the taste of the Pulao is excellent and is well liked by my family. We never felt the raw spouts taste .
Basmati rice -1 cup
Sprouted Moong dal -2 cups
Ginger paste – 1 tsp
Thinly sliced Ginger – 1 tbls
Garlic paste -1 tbls
Khara Masala – 2 green cardamoms, 1 cinnamon stick and 10 to 12 Black pepper corn
Green Chilli – 3 0r 4
Lemon juice – 1 tbls
Fresh Coriander leaves . Salt – To taste
1. Soak the basmati rice for half an hour.
2. Heat ghee in a kadai ,add the Khara masala , onion and saute well. Then green chilli and ginger paste.
3.Now add the rice and water. Add salt , garlic paste and ginger pieces.
4. Add salt and chilly and cover the vessel.
5.When the rice is done , cool it a bit ,add lemon juice and the sprouted green grams and mix gently .
That’s it. We get a yummy food full with nutrients. i served with Channa masala and Tomato sauce.
